DevOps Engineer with CARFAX Europe

CARFAX has pursued the goal of a transparency and fairness used car market for over 35 years now. We do this by providing millions of customers with trusted vehicle history data. We have been offering our service with CARFAX Europe since 2007, and in Poland since 2019 with the aim of ensuring transparency and fairness in the used car market.

We are a dynamic and open-minded IT team with system administrators, software developers, data scientists and data analysts with a full DevOps oriented working style mindset.

Your Role

In this role, you'll collaborate with software developers to setup continuous integration as well as deploy, debug and operate our cloud platform. You will be responsible for

automating and optimizing our operations processes as much as possible, while

building and maintaining tools for deployment, and monitoring. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, quality and production

environments, as well as on-duty rotation.

What you should bring

  • DevOps working style: collaboration, communication, proper documentation and sharing as key working style
  • Strong experience with cloud-based infrastructure like AWS, GCE, etc.; we are running our systems on AWS with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
  • Experience managing a cloud based, containerized infrastructure with Kubernetes; currently running our K8s cluster with AWS EKS
  • Extensive experience shipping containerized applications with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or similar with Docker
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience working with relevant technologies

Bonus points for experience with

  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies like mySQL, Nginx, Memcached, etc.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix administration.
  • Experience with databases in SQL and NoSQL (as a service); we use mySQL and mongodb extensively
  • Experience with monitoring and APM systems like Prometheus, ELK, New Relic, etc.
  • Experience with Big Data platforms
  • Development skills with Python and/or Java
