Healthcare historically has been slow in realizing the benefits of technology and is over ripe for disruption. A primary roadblock that is inhibiting innovation is an inability to integrate innovative software applications with a hospital's Electronics Health Records system (EHR). Redox solves this foundational problem by providing an elegant, cost effective, secure and highly-scalable platform that eliminates these technical barriers.
Since Redox's founding in 2014, thousands of healthcare developers have built on Redox's API platform and Health Systems are using the Redox platform to do everything from turning on new cloud-based applications to exchanging data with affiliated facilities. Redox has connected hundreds of applications at Health Systems across the country, with robust capabilities for integrating into 30+ EHRs including Epic, Cerner, McKesson, AllScripts, and Athena. Most recently, we're partnering with health tech companies responding to needs driven by Covid, via telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, Covid test results, and more.
At Redox, the Engineering team is moving from a culture of centralized infrastructure management to one where the Infrastructure team creates the best practices, guardrails, and automation that enable our application developers to deploy and manage their own infrastructure.
In this role, you will play a key part in this transformation by:
About you: At Redox we hire based on our values as well as technical competency. How you accomplish your work is just as important as getting the work done. We're looking for people who are:
To be successful in this role, your work experience should include:
Redox's Infrastructure Engineering team provides the necessary tools, environments, and knowledge that allow application engineers at Redox the autonomy to build and maintain Redox's reliable, secure, and scalable cloud platform.
Expertise on the team includes: Deployment automation: EC2, S3, RDS, VPCs, IAM, Terraform, Kubernetes, Rancher, Python Logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting: SumoLogic, Statsd, Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana, Icinga, Pagerduty Data technologies: RDS (Postgres, MySQL), Kafka/MSK, Redis/ElastiCache Networking/VPN: LibreSwan, IPtables, IPSec Linux system tuning and debugging
Any other areas of overlap between your work experience and the Infrastructure team's areas of expertise are added bonuses. Working with other teams to enable AWS deployment/management automation is a hard requirement, but please apply even if you are not sure you meet all of the other criteria. If you are interested in the role and think you could be a fit, we'd like to hear from you.
What We Do Healthcare organizations and technology vendors connect to Redox once, then authorize what data they send to and receive from partners through a centralized hub. Redox's cloud-based platform is vendor and standards agnostic and enables the secure and efficient exchange of healthcare data.
This approach eradicates the need for point-to-point integrations and accelerates the discovery, adoption, and distribution of patient and provider-facing technology solutions. With hundreds of healthcare organizations and technology vendors exchanging data today, Redox represents the largest interoperable network in healthcare. Learn how you can leverage the Redox platform at www.redoxengine.com.

Here at Pex, we have built the largest audio-visual search engine in the world allowing creators, musicians and rightsholders to understand the usage of their content and help them to earn more while exposing their content to wider audiences.
We are building on this legacy of digital content identification and management to develop a market-making product we call the Attribution Engine. The Attribution Engine is a three-sided marketplace bringing rightsholders, platforms, and creators together to simplify the existing licensing process by making ownership information more transparent and readily available; bringing scale and consistency to the licensing process; and ensuring that copyright disputes are resolved quickly and cost-effectively. We believe that the successful launch of this product will position Pex to become the Visa of Digital Rights.
Our Infrastructure team spans the globe and is fully remote while maintaining a strong identity and bond. We come from various backgrounds and origins but we all have a few things in common: we love - challenging and dynamic problems, automating everything, observability, reliability, accountability and spreading the SRE way. We strive to work ourselves out of the job, knowing that it is never really an attainable goal. We share and avoid hoarding information. We strive to create an environment where all team members are empowered to take ownership, experiment and learn from their mistakes.
Do you like board games or other games of strategy? Do you work well under pressure? Do you like solving problems of massive scale? Do you like thinking about ways to use tools in unconventional ways? Do you like thinking long-term? Do you want to have the ability to have a direct impact on the success of a company and create something entirely new in the marketplace? If you found yourself nodding to a few of these questions, let's chat!

Us: Ex-Y Combinator, profitable and funded startup of ~30 people. Remote team, mainly based in the UK. Creating a web-based platform for behavioural research. 4x yearly growth, all driven by word-of-mouth.
Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, Python, MongoDB, Postgres, Redis.
You: Experienced operations engineer with experience leading a small team and revamping existing organic infrastructure. Happy working side by side with engineers following DevOps practices.
£70-100k depending on skills and experience.
At Prolific, we're changing how research on the internet is done. Our co-founders Katia and Phelim started by building a marketplace that connects researchers from both Academia and industry with instant, high quality, global research participants. Now, as a growing team, our bigger vision is to build the most powerful and trusted platform for behavioral research.
We were in Y Combinator's Summer 2019 batch, we've recently closed a $1.4M seed round, we've been growing 4x a year purely through word-of-mouth, we're already profitable, and we have very ambitious plans.
##The Role We're looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer. In the role you will play a key role in developing and guiding the direction our infrastructure. Being a young startup, we have built up a certain level of infrastructure already but now we need to prepare it for scaling (both of our users and of our team). This is close to a green field opportunity: you'll get to decide what our infrastructure should look like and build a small team to fulfil your goals, all the while supporting our existing squads with ongoing product development. We want our devops team to be able to work closely together, as well as integrate within other squads when the need arises.
You should have broad practical knowledge as well as some experience leading and hiring a team. We are happy to help you upskill your leadership if necessary. In accordance with the servant leadership model, we very much view this as an enabling role and would expect you to approach it as such.
Our engineers are split into small multi-discipline squads of 3-7 people (engineers, product designers, UX, product managers). Squads are problem-focused and work on high level objectives, e.g. our Impact Squad is looking at ways the site's UX can be improved to increase retention of users. Squads use 6-12 week cycles to meet the objectives with continuous delivery throughout the cycle.
We have a strong belief in the value of testing - both integration and unit testing. All code goes through code review.
Deep work is valued throughout the company. We favour async communication over Slack and Notion. When we need to communicate in real-time we try to group meetings together to give everyone bigger blocks of interruption-free time.
Our problem-focused squads allow for regular innovation, which we foster further with quarterly hack-days, building things like study debriefing tools and experiments comparing our platform to competitors like MTurk.
Continuous learning and development is strongly encouraged. Everyone gets a personal development budget which they can put towards things like books, courses and conferences, and reserve times every fortnight for learning new things or working on creative side-projects.
We're aware of the challenges of being a remote worker and work hard to foster team-spirit. We encourage remote chats over coffee with colleagues and have regular team meetings to keep everyone up to date with goings on across the company and introduce new joiners.
We believe that we are in the process of successfully building a company that people enjoy working for. Our employees should feel valued, supported, and fulfilled. We know that there's always more that we could be doing and have regular conversations about what we can improve. Everyone's opinion is important and all input is taken on board.
What We Offer
Our aim is to get to know how you'd fit into our team as an operations engineer. First, we'll have a short call with you to discuss your career to date and your motivations for the role. Then we'll give you a devops task that is relevant to the work we do at Prolific. We don't expect you to spend more than three hours on this. We understand that your time is valuable so you will be reimbursed with a £50 Amazon voucher, regardless of whether or not you proceed to the final round. The final stage will be interviews with the co-founders and another member of the development team, where we will dig deeper into your values and technical understanding.

The current rapid expansion of our internal user & client base, services landscape and cumulated complexity call for a top-notch solutions enabler with a service attitude who can keep multiple plates spinning at any given time.
Working directly with the founders, you would take over responsibility for the overall vision, execution and management of our infrastructure service department. Domain Experience with Golang, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Google Cloud, PostgreSQL and the ElasticSearch ecosystem comes as a benefit for this position.
We love challenging goals. We question everything. We are always learning and we are excellent in execution. We believe in the 80/20 rule and try to apply common sense and pragmatism to everything.
Sounds like you? Great, we’d like to meet you.
Feel free to send us a short message using the form on our careers page that gives us an idea of what motivates you, why you want to work at JustWatch, how this role resonates with you and how you think you will help us achieve our goals.

At Pod Point we’re changing the way people drive. We fundamentally believe that travel shouldn’t damage the Earth so we’ve made it our mission to install a Pod Point (an Electric Vehicle charging point) everywhere you park. To make that vision a reality, we need the brightest, most tenacious and most inspiring talent in the world - we are growing faster than the market and we need to maintain that velocity - that’s where you come in!
Pod Point is building the charging infrastructure that’s accelerating electric vehicle adoption in the UK. We have built a pan-European IoT network of smart charging devices and need pioneering tech infrastructure to support it.
We need a passionate DevOps Engineer to help us achieve our mission - you will be working with the latest technology to support our roadmap. We are heavily embedded and invested in AWS and use most of their service features, including EKS, Kinesis, Elastic Search, RDS, Redshift, SQS, SNS, Opsworks, Lambda, CloudFront, API Gateway, CodeBuild and so on. We are in the process of moving our orchestration layer to Kubernetes and Terraform. You will be architecting our infrastructure build and deployment pipeline, and managing the ongoing evolution of our tech stack to ensure it scales with the business.
You should be hungry for innovation and keen to explore and utilise all of the tools available to make your work effective and industry leading. You will work closely with the software teams to build elegant, high performance solutions; you will report into the Head of Software Engineering and will be based out of our offices near to Old Street Station in London.
What you’ll need
At Pod Point we like to think we are anything but conventional. We have worked hard to create a rapidly-growing, constantly innovating, flat-structured world, where each employee can see the vital contribution they are making to the company. We knew from the very beginning that a rigid, corporate environment was never going to work for us, and we have stayed true to our word - we’re anything but.
We work hard; we’re not clock-watchers but equally you may find yourself working into the evening very occasionally. In return we’ll pay you well, give you complete ownership to shape the role, give you ground-breaking projects to work on and surround you with fantastic, talented people. We also provide the following benefits:
Our first priority (at all times, but especially during the COVID-19 pandemic) is to make sure we’re not unnecessarily exposing Pod Pointers to potential health risks, so we’re conducting all interviews on Google Meet and are able to onboard new starters remotely too. We also realise it can seem daunting to start a new role remotely (and some people struggle with their mental health when working from home at the best of times) so we do intend to reopen the office as soon as it’s safe to do so, and once we do you will be welcome to use that for work if you prefer. Additionally we’re putting in place some extra initiatives to keep our culture humming (for both “work” and “play”) as we transition to being a remote first company.

Faraday is a funded and rapidly growing data science startup powered by a small team. Are you a programmer ready to focus 4 days a week, with all meetings restricted to a single day? Are you ready to build an industry-changing product? Do you want to apply technologies like BigQuery, TypeScript, Python, auto-scaling clusters, continuous deployment and machine learning? Do you want to release open source under your own name? Do you want a reason to move to beautiful Vermont? If you are happy at your job, but are ready for the next level, come find us. We are working on a product that has passed escape velocity and now we're reaching for the stars - it's a great time to build, build, build.
Faraday (https://faraday.ai) puts AI and data science to work for consumer brands across the nation. Our platform is used by innovative companies in a variety of industries, including clean energy, e-commerce, retail, financial services, real estate, and more. Traditionally, implementing AI costs companies millions and requires big teams and months of work to do right. The Faraday platform lets brands model and understand their customers in weeks, at a fraction of the cost. Behind the scenes, we're built on Python, Typescript and Ruby, with inner loops written in Rust. We love SQL, and we use BigQuery for large-scale data transformation, and PostgreSQL and BigTable for interactive APIs. We ingest and transform data using hundreds of CPUs. When possible and useful, we publish our work as open source. Faraday is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
If you think this is cool, don't rule yourself out because you're missing something from this list - we want people with imposter syndrome to apply.

Every company that is building software has to manage environments. This is time consuming and takes away from building things customers want. Most companies have one or few staging environments that become bottlenecks as code must run in staging before releasing to production. Applications are also getting more and more complex and development is getting harder to do on your laptop. Release solves these problems by making repeatable environments for every developer on every Pull Request.
Skills: Git, Go, Kubernetes, React, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Bash/Shell, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Release is looking for a Founding Member of the engineering team reporting directly to one of the co-founders.
This role will be responsible for developing software solutions in Rails and React. This would include, but not be limited to our backend api server, front-end UI, and our cli (written in Go). Your primary responsibility will be working on our large (100k+ lines), modern (Rails 6.x), backend api monolith. You will be responsible for architecting, designing and implementing sophisticated solutions for our customers.
A working knowledge of AWS CloudFormation, K8s manifests, and Material UI would make you an ideal fit. Experience with Go, EKS and OSS projects are a big plus. You will have the opportunity to interface with customers from lead to implementation. As a senior engineering team member you'll be responsible for a high level of quality and driving solutions from start to finish. We use Release to build Release, so things you work on that improve your software development experience often translate one-to-one to our customer's issues.
In addition to engineering work and customer interaction you'll also be helping build the culture of the company from the ground up alongside the founders and the early founding team members. We’re currently a small team of 7, 100% remote, and well funded by a top VC.

[Here's a guide on how we strive to communicate with customers.
Working at Buffer is collaborative effort built on the foundation of our core values. We try to be “No Ego Doers” who are aware of our assumptions, and joining us means you'll work together with the team in order to test and confirm our ideas. In our career framework, we choose to focus on the journey, the growth and evolution that is a career.
We're cultivating a unique and robust culture, and building a different type of company that’s focused not only on the bottom line, but also the happiness and personal growth of our customers and team along the journey.
Buffer is a fully distributed team, which means that we’re spread across the planet. We have Bufferoos in 15 countries, 11 timezones and 42 cities around the world to build a great culture and product. You'll work where you're happiest and most productive, in the place that helps you to become the person you wish to be.
The Infrastructure team at Buffer is a small team of 4 entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring our product engineering teams can deliver a high-quality, reliable and secure service to our customers. This starts from the lowest level of deploying and maintaining our Kubernetes cluster(s) to building custom tooling for other engineers to automate workflows of development and deployment.
At Buffer Engineering, we embrace self-service DevOps. This means, that the Infrastructure team is not an “Ops team,” but a team always aiming to provide the tooling, monitoring, safeguards and automation to let our product engineering teams deliver software quickly and confidently. This is an engineering team which empowers other engineering teams.
As a team, we care about maintenance and security. We help ensure that dependencies, database versions and language environments are upgraded at a healthy and sustainable cadence. We believe any great product should be build on a solid foundation.
In this role you’ll report to Colin, the Engineering Manager of the Infrastructure team. Day to day you’ll work closely with and be supported by your colleagues covering areas such as Site Reliability, Security & Compliance as well as our Kubernetes platform. More widely, this role will involve considerable collaboration and consultation with product engineers and product engineering managers to identify opportunities and find pain points in our current workflows.
The mission of the Infrastructure team is to enable product teams to be successful. Ultimately, you’ll make the lives of our product engineers easier. You’ll help us to deliver a high quality product into the hands of our valued customers multiple times a day by helping engineers automate the process of building and shipping code from local development environments to testing to continuous deployment pipelines.
On a given day you might spend some time working with a product engineer to help prepare a new micro-service for deployment to our cluster, working through our production readiness checklist and ensuring the service is ready, while noting any ambiguities or inconsistencies in the process. Later you might continue adding some additional capabilities to our deployment pipeline to support some new workflows specific to python applications. You might finish the day by putting some final touches to a new tool you’ve been creating to help engineers identify services which are approaching scaling limits so we can perform any necessary work before it’s too late.
We strive to have a healthy mix of smaller, reactive tasks mixed in with more proactive longer term projects. Communication and education are key aspects of this role, and you will likely spend time creating written documentation or recording screencasts about our tools as well as actively seeking feedback via interviews or surveys.
Here are some of the tools we currently use, and that you’ll be expected to work with, debug, or otherwise support. We’re always open to using something new if it’s a better tool for the job!
More important than specific technical skills, we are looking for someone who is eager to solve problems and do the work to identify those problems and then work collaboratively and creatively to solve them. We have existing CI/CD pipelines and local developer environment tooling and are always looking for ways to remove pain points and be more efficient, allowing product engineers to craft software with the confidence that it will work when it is deployed to production.
That said, we expect that the successful candidate will satisfy most of the following:
