🎨 The role
re:collect is hiring an experienced backend software engineer to help design, build and maintain our backend infrastructure. Our product relies heavily on machine learning algorithms in production (a lot of our work is done in Python). An understanding and interest in how to scale database and machine learning-heavy infrastructure are important.
Reporting to the Founder/CEO, you'll join a small but mighty team as our second backend hire. Each of us has a specific focus area, but we all jump in to solve problems where we can.

- Continually design and modify our backend architecture to support new machine learning-powered capabilities
- Get our backend ready for scale
- Work with our product designer to build customer-facing features
- Improve our monitoring and alerting
- As we grow, there's an opportunity to develop and manage a team of engineers
👉 About you
- Built and scaled applications that rely on cloud services
- Built APIs with Python
- Have experience with container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Worked with continuous integration/delivery/deployment tools and workflows
- Quickly able to pick up new frameworks and programming languages as needed
- Excited about the early stages of a company and are good at being laser-focused but also flexible

- Experience deploying machine learning models in production
- Experience leading a team
- Interest in or experience with distributed application frameworks like Ray
