At AgileMD, we are building the most advanced real-time predictive analytics and clinical algorithms platform for hospitals. Our cloud-based engine helps thousands of doctors and nurses around the country make medical decisions, so that every patient receives the highest quality and value of care based on the latest medical knowledge and data. We make a meaningful, measurable impact on patient outcomes every day.
We are hiring a DevOps Lead fluent in AWS and cloud technologies to join our Engineering team - the team responsible for ensuring that AgileMD has high availability, low latency, and tight security. We routinely square off to the biggest challenges in healthcare and engineering while building a reliable, scalable platform for medical recommendations based on high-volume patient data in real-time.
In this role you will be responsible for the infrastructure behind AgileMD. You will build automated processes to deploy code faster, safer, and more securely. You will build and expand a highly resilient and scalable architecture spanning multiple regions and many AWS services. You will be fluent in the requirements for keeping health data safe and proactive in guarding against malevolent actors. Datapane (github.com/datapane) is looking for an exceptional and experienced systems / infrastructure backend engineer to join our team. This role covers both backend systems engineering, infrastructure, and site reliability engineering; you can think of it as involving everything around what runs, where it runs, and keeping it running!
Our scale and workloads present unique challenges which mean this role is hugely important as we grow. Datapane's public API is the most popular way to share and embedding data science documents on the web. Additionally, we provide both a managed/automated cloud and on-premise solution for customers which includes serverless execution of their data science workloads and hosting of their internal data science reports.
The role has many facets, including:
This will be a flexible role with a lot of potential. You might working with some of the latest Linux technologies (such as user-mode containers) to safely isolate analytics code; be orchestrating our CI/CD system to handle building and deploying a product used by tens of thousands of public users and organisations; optimising container build and distribution workflows; working on on-premise and cloud solutions; or pairing on new plugins to integrate Datapane with different data-stores. You'll also be helping to improve our automated deployment, management, and monitoring of customer workloads on the Datapane hosted platform.
The core Datapane platform is a Python system comprising of an OSS library and a free / managed Django server. On the infrastructure side, we try to stay as cloud-agnostic as possible, and can run on any IaaS, but are focusing on our own hosted PaaS on GCP.
Linux and Docker/container knowledge are essential, as is working with the main cloud platforms -- we have several customers running automated setups on AWS, Azure and GCP. Prior Kubernetes experience is desirable but not required; however, you need to be ready and willing to learn K8S as an administrator and operator. As an engineer, you will need to know some Python - we deliberately try to stick to a single language across our stack to maximise reuse, hence our product and most of our deployment scripts and commands use Python. General systems knowledge, for instance, Postgres setup, Redis, networking, load balancing, HTTP caching, SSL cert management, etc. are required to help maintain the Datapane PaaS.
You should be interested in developing best practices for running highly available and highly performant data services, and excited to pick up the new technologies and skills to do so.
Lastly, you should like the idea of releasing to real customers regularly, and prioritise getting a great product into users' hands for feedback and iteration. You will have extensive scope to build and architect the backend, and to help grow the team in the future.
We're looking for permanent, full-time, remote employees excited to join us on our mission. Please do not apply if you cannot start immediately/in the near future, are applying on behalf of an outsourcing company, or a freelancer looking for contract work - unfortunately such applications will be ignored.

U.S. Healthcare is a 3.5 trillion-dollar industry, but patients frequently have poor experiences because of the inability of healthcare systems to adopt modern technology. We at Redox understand that we are all patients, and our mission is to break down those barriers by providing an elegant, cost effective, secure, and highly-scalable platform that allows hundreds of applications at healthcare systems across the country to exchange data. In the past year, for example, Redox has enabled health tech companies to rapidly respond to needs driven by Covid: test result processing, remote patient monitoring, vaccine distribution, telemedicine, and more.
The Foundation Engineering team creates the best practices, guardrails, and automation that enable our application developers to deploy and manage the infrastructure that our customers use to exchange healthcare data. In this role, you will play a key part in improving our deployment automation, container orchestration, and observability platforms by:
Working closely with your peers to provide hands-on subject matter expertise to ensure that the deployment, management, and introspection tooling for our infrastructure is automated, secure, and appropriately abstracted so it's easy for our developers to use and maintain
Identifying and collecting metrics that allow us to measure change and pinpoint areas for improvement
Occasionally supporting engineers with debugging and resolving issues for our test and production environments as part of a 24x7 on-call rotation
At Redox we're guided by our values, and how you accomplish your work is just as important as getting the work done. We're looking for people who are:
We value the skills and experience that make you a great contributor to the team, regardless of whether or not you have college degrees or certifications. To be successful in this role, your work experience should include:
We in Foundation Engineering work as a team and use agile scrum to focus on solving the most important problems. We strive to build a psychologically safe environment that values clarity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing so that we're constantly learning and growing while improving our culture and technology. You'll get to work on a 100% cloud-native platform with a modern tech stack that includes a mix of open source and enterprise software:
Deployment automation: Kubernetes (EKS)/Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Python, Jenkins, AWS (EC2, S3, VPCs, IAM, AWS Secrets Manager)
Logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting: SumoLogic, Statsd, Telegraf, Prometheus, InfluxDB, Grafana, Icinga, Pagerduty
Networking/VPN: LibreSwan, IPtables, IPSec
Experience with AWS and Kubernetes container orchestration are hard requirements, and any other areas of overlap between your work experience and the Foundation Engineering team's tech stack are added bonuses!

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
What We Do
Healthcare organizations and technology vendors connect to Redox once, then authorize what data they send to and receive from partners through a centralized hub. Redox's cloud-based platform is vendor and standards agnostic and enables the secure and efficient exchange of healthcare data.
This approach eradicates the need for point-to-point integrations and accelerates the discovery, adoption, and distribution of patient and provider-facing technology solutions. With hundreds of healthcare organizations and technology vendors exchanging data today, Redox represents the largest interoperable network in healthcare. Learn how you can leverage the Redox platform at www.redoxengine.com.

We support customers of any size to adopt modern infrastructures and embrace the Cloud Native revolution. We believe in continuous learning, flexibility, agile methodology, sharing ideas and knowledge, supporting each other, and pushing ourselves to the next level.
Open-source is part of our DNA. We are the maintainers of Capsule, an open-source Operator for implementing multi-tenancy in Kubernetes. Our commercial product is Clastix Enterprise Kubernetes, a suite of integrated cloud native components, including Capsule, all wrapped together and made available as an enterprise ready platform and deployable as a single solution.
We are looking for a remote experienced Kubernetes expert and Go engineer to join our team to build open-source developer tooling in the cloud-native space.
You will be a key part of a talented and successful engineering team that works together with important customers to build cutting-edge technology solutions based on our open source stack.
Optionally you'll:

If the Pull Request is approved, a final call to meet the team will be made and all the onboarding arrangements will be settled.

We're looking for experienced Dev/Sec/Ops/SRE folk to join our team, helping our clients navigate and implement the Cloud-Native Vision™ (not really trademarked)
Passionate about Kubernetes, Istio, Argo, Tekton, Terraform, and all things Linux? Do you love applying cloud-native technologies to gracefully solve new problems? Delight in using TDD to build production-grade code? Enjoy creating systems that simplify application developers' lives? Do you relish wrangling AWS, GCP and Azure?
(Azure? Really?)
Then read on!
As a consulting company, there's never such a thing as a normal day.
When on an engineering engagement, you could be writing custom controllers in Go, wrangling Terraform configurations, tweaking Kubernetes clusters, building ReactJS UIs, crafting CI/CD pipelines, or APIs in Python. Each client and each project is different, and that's what makes the job so enjoyable.
In-between engagements, and during our 20% time, we work on open source tooling, write about our experiences in our journal, talk at conferences, or research the latest technologies for our workshops.
Clients come to us because of our incredibly deep Linux, DevOps and Kubernetes experience. They look to us to bring a steady judgment born out of our past injuries.
Our people join us because they want a chance to put that experience and judgment to work in challenging projects that span both operations and development. If this sounds like you, then reach out today.
TDD…and that's no accident. While we respect the perseverance and dedication it takes to get your higher degree, we also recognize that many smart and hard working people opt to go straight into the industry. We don't judge anyone for either path.
It's entirely up to you. We treat everyone as equals, but there are pros and cons to either role: We can only provide benefits to our full time employees, but contractors enjoy a much more flexible schedule.
Because of "client communication," we're only hiring people based in or near the US (GMT-4 through GMT-7). We
Canadians!
Our team is small, and we like it that way. You'll have a unique opportunity to help shape SuperOrbital into something truly special. Help us build a company that lives up to our values and acts as an example of what a culture built on respect can achieve.
We strive to offer a structure that matches our values.
Not "some remote employees," not "many remote offices," but a truly 100% remote-first culture.
It's not always easy, but being fully remote gives our people a healthier work/life balance, allows us to create a more diverse team, and helps us attract the best people we can find.
We dedicate a day a week to internal projects, we never work more than 40 hours a week, and we give our people unlimited vacation (and 11 days of holidays).
People can't perform when they're overworked. Your brain needs time off to allow it to flourish when it's back on. DevOps is a marathon, not a sprint.
To do good work, we have to feel we and our loved ones are safe. We provide that foundation for you.
We cover 100% of the premiums for our stellar medical, dental & vision insurance. We also pay your home internet bills, provide office equipment, and offer a matching 401k to all of our employees.
You may want to consider contracting...
Our contractors enjoy flexible three or four day working weeks (long weekends rock!) and the ability to take extended sabbaticals in-between projects. Many of our contractors use our projects to pay the bills while they invest in their own startup ideas.
While we can't legally provide benefits like insurance and PTO, we do everything we can to help our contractors feel like an integral part of the team.
While these values stem from moral roots, we also just believe they're the right way to run a business. Working in an environment of professionalism, respect, and emotional safety allows us to produce our best work, and builds a culture that enriches everyone's lives.
Our clients look to us to help them understand the myriad and constantly changing landscape of cloud-native tools. It's important to us that they succeed. This means focusing on the actual problems they face and leading them toward the simplest solutions possible. This is what we mean by "Do What Works."
We continually try to take the path that does right by our people and our clients, no matter how hard that can be. We believe that how you treat others inevitably comes back to you, so we try to keep our karma well groomed.
We're a business, not a brogrammer startup. We don't accept death marches, political backstabbing, or a "take-it-for-the-team" mentality. Instead, we believe in an environment of professionalism and respect.
