Datapane (github.com/datapane) is looking for an exceptional and experienced systems / infrastructure backend engineer to join our team. This role covers both backend systems engineering, infrastructure, and site reliability engineering; you can think of it as involving everything around what runs, where it runs, and keeping it running!
Our scale and workloads present unique challenges which mean this role is hugely important as we grow. Datapane's public API is the most popular way to share and embedding data science documents on the web. Additionally, we provide both a managed/automated cloud and on-premise solution for customers which includes serverless execution of their data science workloads and hosting of their internal data science reports.
This will be a flexible role with a lot of potential. You might be working with some of the latest Linux technologies (such as user-mode containers) to safely isolate analytics code; be orchestrating our CI/CD system to handle building and deploying a product used by tens of thousands of public users and organisations; optimising container build and distribution workflows; working on on-premise and cloud solutions; or pairing on new plugins to integrate Datapane with different data-stores and big data tools. You'll also be helping to improve our automated deployment, management, and monitoring of customer workloads on the Datapane hosted platform.
The core Datapane platform is a Python system comprising of an OSS library and a free / managed Django server. On the infrastructure side, we try to stay as cloud-agnostic as possible, and can run on any IaaS, but are focusing on our own hosted PaaS on GCP.
You should be interested in developing best practices for running highly available and highly performant data services, and excited to pick up the new technologies and skills to do so. Lastly, you should like the idea of releasing to real customers regularly, and prioritise getting a great product into users' hands for feedback and iteration. You will have extensive scope to build and architect the backend, and to help grow the team in the future.
Please note, we are looking exclusively for full-time, permanent, candidates located within Europe at the moment.

We've grown from #18 to over #60 Appvians within the last 18 months and have ambitious growth plans as we continue growth across all teams.
Our belief is that there is a need to simplify and automate the complexity behind Kubernetes and being Cloud Native. Our management team is composed of people who have seen this challenge first hand, whether that be the customer themselves such as Home Office, New York Stock Exchange or Betfair. All the way through to like minded successful start-ups who have exited such as Pivotal, Puppet, SUSE, Contino.
Finally, a big part of being an Appvian is our values. Here are ours:
Growth - The growth of every person within their role and domain.
Curiosity - Our mantra is to ‘Fail Fast'. We believe you can learn more from trying things outside of your comfort zone and thus we try to enable an environment where people can express themselves and try new ideas.
Commitment - Anything worth doing, isn't easy and thus we remain committed to the vision.
Measure - Measuring what we do and how we can improve is vital to see continued success.

We’re looking for engineers that want to build something great with a group of incredible people. We’re a small (but growing) group of smart and talented engineers, who are passionate about distributed systems, open source, and clean architecture.
We’ve found that working with other like minded, smart engineers is a great benefit – it feels great to be part of a high-performing team.
If you are smart, have 4 years of Golang, know your way around Kubernetes (if you've written operators, that's a plus), or the Linux kernel and networking, and are interested in changing the world of distributed systems, we’d like to hear from you.
Don’t have all that experience? Fret not! We are always building new things that haven’t been done before, so we’re most interested in good developers that enjoy learning, are curious, driven and want to master new things. If that sounds like you, apply!
Sidero is a fast moving startup, that is scaling our engineering team as our customers scale. You’ll have the opportunity to work on all sorts of things – network booting, operating system architecture, secure software life cycle, encryption and key management – lots of good juicy stuff.
As part of a small, all remote team, you’ll be highly autonomous, but have a big impact. We value results, not time spent at your screen – you get to manage that yourself, and work however, wherever and whenever you want. Depending on your inclination, as well as code and architect, we will probably ask that you blog about your work, and attend online meetings with prospects and customers to hear their problems directly (so that you can help design solutions with first hand knowledge.) We pay competitive salaries, and, depending on your location, grant stock options or stock appreciation rights. But you may find that the biggest benefit is the people you’ll get to work with, as well as the culture of responsibility and results.

At Gearset, we build a cutting-edge DevOps solution for the millions of developers building applications on Salesforce, the world's biggest enterprise PaaS. In only a few years Gearset has become the DevOps solution of choice for some of the world's biggest companies, including IBM, McKesson, and even Salesforce themselves.
As a Gearset DevOps Engineer you will work collaboratively using a pragmatically-chosen modern tech stack (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, .NET) to help Gearset run a scalable, secure and reliable service, and enable development of the solution to scale with the growth of the company. Gearset was founded by a group of software engineers and our product has always been built on a robust devops philosophy, but we know there is so much more that we can do.
We're a team of smart, pragmatic people who enjoy giving our best every day to solve our users' problems. We recently received three awards from Best Companies in 2021, putting us in the top 10 best mid-sized companies to work for, the top three best technology companies in the UK, and top 5 best companies in the East of England.
We're proud of what we've built and how we've built it. We work as a team, where attributes of trust, openness and honesty are key, as they allow us to have a feedback-driven culture that keeps us always improving. To learn more about what “ good” looks like to us, read about our engineering values here.
Joining the Devops team, you'll contribute to building out our multi-tenant infrastructure from a single region to multiple across the globe, help scale for an ever growing user base, and support a team developing an increasingly sophisticated web app utilising more and more of the power of AWS. Throughout Gearset we believe to our core in delivering value as early and as often as possible. You'll be involved in building and maintaining the automation that allows us to do things such as release the product to our users multiple times per day, and improving how we operate across the board.
Note that you must be based in the UK for this role.

Love Docker, Python, Golang, and distributed systems?
Pachyderm is hiring a DevOps expert to be a senior member of our team to help improve infrastructure, deployment, and testing processes. Pachyderm has a rapidly-growing engineering team and we're long overdue for some major improvements to our internal infra and engineering methodologies.

At Pachyderm, OSS user and customer feedback is a major driver of our product roadmap and we believe that everyone within the company should experience that first-hand.
